PLANNING QUESTIONS
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I'm working by myself
What materials will you need for your project?
my computer and a 3D printer.
What is your plan to create in this project?
work for 5 days ands design my project.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My project is though up by myself and is my first which might make it have less detailed qualities then other projects.
Day 1: I made a new subpage on my website and began setting it up. Then I asnwered my planning questions and my list of ten good ideas.
day 2: I decided on making cookie cutters and immediatly made a new project in the website tinkercad. Then I messed around with the tools for a bit.
Day 3: I used a ruler to make measurments for my project and began to creat three diferent colored cookie cutters.
Day 4:I added handles and a lid type thing to the tops of the cookie cutters, which took myn most of class to figure ou
Day 5: I added one new cookie cutter to my design. Then I copied and pasted my reflection question to begin answering them.
Day 6: I screen recorded my project on tinkercad and then uplaoded it to my drive, then finally into my website. I also finsished answering my reflection questions.
Using tinkercad, my ruler, and my computer, I created 4 cookie cutters for my 3d project because I thought they would be a good gift for my mom.
During this process, I learned how to 3D print and how to use the website tinkercad.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to the knowledge constructer standard. It connects to this standard because I was actively building and understanding my work through the designs and experiments. My project also ties to the standard Innovative designer. It connects to this standard because I designed and prototyped.
A challenge I overcame on this project was not knowing how to use any of the tools in the website. I was able to do it by messing around with the tools and asking for help. The tools were used to make my design hollow for the cookie to go into.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the shapes of my cookie cutter into more fun and festive shapes. The reason why I would change it is because my shapes were kind of normal and dull, unlike a christmas tree would have been.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in Engineering Design because while designing my project in tinkercad I had to use rulers and imagine how big the cookie cutters would be. From there I put the measurements into the design and had to convert centimeters into inches using math in my project. These examples are why I beleive my project connects to careers in Engineering and Design.
