Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working in a group of three
What materials will you need for your project?
We used cardboard, paint, glue, iMovie, iPad.
What is your plan to create in this project?
We are trying to create wheel of fortune
What unique qualities will your project have?
It is very glittery and it has tickets for a prize.
We heard about what we were doing for the cardboard project. And we watched a video from where it origanated from.
We made our list of Ten Ideas for things to do for our project. And then chose the idea we were doing which is wheel of fortune.
Today we started putting together our cardboard project. We figured out how we were going to build it and then we cut some stuff.
Today we started painting our project, cutting, and gluing.
Today we figured out what to do for the base of our wheel of fortune and then we painted it.
Today we worked more on the base of wheel of fortune and we have it almost done we just have to paint and glue it together.
Today we finished our project by gluing everything together and finalizing the little touches.
We created our iMovie.
Using, cardboard I created a Wheel of Fortune because me and my team wanted other people to be able to see our creation. We really wanted people to be able to play and enjoy our game. Also we wanted to do wheel of fortune because it is something different than what everyone else was doing. I think we chose really unique colors.
During this process, I learned to use time wisely because sometimes me and team got distracted. Sometimes we got distracted by talking. This caused us to fall behind in our Wheel of Fortune. This might be why our wheel of fortune doesn't spin.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovation Designer because we were able to come up with something new we were able to create something we had never seen before. We did this by using unique colors and structures. We did not copy anyones ideas.
A challenge I overcame on this project was putting our tickets in the slot machine. I was able to do it by flipping the base he right way. It was a struggle because we added tickets to our wheel and when I was trying to put the tickets in the slot I kept putting it upside down. I tried to put it in like three times.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how we connected the wheel to the base. The reason why I would change it is because our wheel doesn't spin because we accidentally glued it too much so it doesn't spin. We also connected cardboard to the wheel and the base. To fix it we would have to put a skewer through a hole in the wheel and connect that to a skewer in the base.
