Me working In The Green Screen Room
The Snow Day Video
Me, Cole and William made a snow day video for if our school if we have a snow day. We used the green screen Ipad to make a movie with a background from google and then we stood, laid, and danced in front of the camera. Me and Cole were the 2 students that were woken up by their mom. (William) They wake up sadly for another day of school when William, the mom, tells them its a snow day. They then jump up excitedly and start dancing while the Fortnite Rap Battle plays in the background
I learned how to move the camera around so that we could lay down and still be fully in the camera, We tried doing it standing up, but it looked weird when we got up. We also adjusted the stand so that when we put the IPad back on, it was facing kind of downward, but not too far down so that we would still be fully in the camera when we got up. I also learned about adjusting the screen so that our whole bodies would be in the screen. In our final scene, mine and Cole's head keep getting cut off, because we made it to small. I learned you have to adjust it, and make it bigger, so that you can see your whole body.
I was an empowered learner because I used technology to take an active role in choosing, achieving, and demonstrating competency in my learning goals, informed by the learning sciences. I was also a knowledge constructor because I critically curated a variety of resources using digital tools to construct knowledge, produce creative artifacts and make meaningful learning experiences for myself and others. Those were the standards my project tied to. I chose what I wanted to make for the snow day project, and I learned how to use different tools, and helped my friends also learn about the different tools, and they taught me.
We overcame trying to stand while doing the video, but it looked weird when we got up, so we brought the camera down so we could lay down. We adjusted the IPad stand, then we put it back on, so it was bent downward facing the ground. We couldn't bend it down all the way though because We wanted to be fully in the camera when we got up. We also overcame having to deal with everyone coming into the room while we were trying to film. We had to scrap a lot of scenes because people kept coming in and messing around.
I would change the second background because I don't think it really fits with the rest of the video. I would probably make it the same place, or maybe a living room so that when we get up, its like we just hopped up, not like we got up, and ran over to the door, and went outside and then started dancing instead of immediately hopping up and start dancing like most people would. It just doesn't really make sense for the story. Maybe first dancing in our room, then dancing as we do things, like eating breakfast, brushing our teeth, then dancing out the door into the snow
I could be an actor, because I practiced keeping a straight face, and just acting in front of the camera, just like I would do as an actor, acting out movies with green screens. I also worked on doing weird stuff, like getting up weirdly and doing Fortnite dances, just like I would do as an actor, doing weird things in front of the green screen. I could also be a director, because we wrote the movie, just like a director would do. It gives me experience for making a full movie, like Avengers Endgame or movies that are longer, and need diolauge and things like that.
