We made the spero mini go in an obstacle course. It made a battle song and a fart sound too. It started with the battle song. Then it went forward, then right, then diagonal forward/left. After it stops, it makes the fart noise. We wanted it to be a relay race, where I bump into William, and then William does something, then he hits Cole, and he does something, but it kept getting taken apart so our project is a little easy.
I learned how to play noises on the sphero mini. I then learned how to do them at certain times. I also learned how to make the colors strobe, and just switch between them. I also learned how to aim it. You have move the light so that it faces you, then when you make it go 0, it goes forward.
I was an empowered learner because I leveraged technology to take an active role in choosing, achieving, and demonstrating competency in our learning goals, informed by the learning sciences. I was also a digital citizen, because I recognized the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world, and I acted and model in ways that are safe, legal and ethical.
We overcame having our obstacle course/relay race being taken down everyday. Our project was meant to be a lot more complicated than it is. We had me running into William, and then William doing something, and then running into Cole, and then Cole doing something. We could never finish it in one day, though, so when we came back, we would set it back up, and then we wouldn't have time again.
I would maybe have it roll around the school. I think it would be cool if we did a project around the school. We could have it roll down the hall, and go up the ramp, maybe between the tables. We could maybe even do different days of it, maybe one upstairs too. We could go all around the school.
I could be a coder, because they code things to do different things, just like I did. I made the mini do things, just like a coder. I could also be a story maker, because I made different things for the minis to do. I made a story with their events.
