7P3 Micro Bit

Reflection

Using MicroBits provided by Mr Renner, I created The game flappybird on a microbit because I thought of mking heads guess at first then realized i couldnt find a way to make it pause the way I wanted to. So out of annoyance I switched to make the game Flappy Bird. And it turned out amazing and the way I wanted it to after several days of coding it and hitting roadblocks.

During this process, I learned I need to have paitence and how to code on a fully functional tiny computer. And I also learned that I really need to stop rushing through stuff. And with patience I learned to code things.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Contstructor because A Knowledge Constructor is a person who seeks out answers themselves. Examples of things i was a knowledge constructor and searching for was step by step videos and websites to show me what codes to put in.

A challenge I overcame on this project was hitting so many roadblocks to the point I quit my original project. I was able to do it by Creating a new project and actually being paitient and doing research to figure out what to do. I searched up several step by step processes to try and get the bird just to move forward.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change not giving up on my first project because if I didnt give up on the Heads Up game I probably wouldve figured it out and made it to the best of my ability. The reason why I would change it is because I now realize I couldve searched up different ways to fix the game to pause for a longer time.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School.  

My project connects to careers in Programming games because when we work on this micro bit most of us made games. Since I also made a game, I think jobs in this field connect to my project.
