Daily Log:
Day 1: Today Mr. Renner gave us our Micro-bit's I coded my Micro bit to say "Hello I'm Janessa" and then I tried to make rock paper succors but I couldn't.
Day 2: Today I made a mood tracker thing so if you press B it is a sad smiley face sad but if you press A it is a happy smiley face.
Day 3: Today I took my video on my i- pad and then i uploaded it. and then tried to do another program but i didn't work so I edited my video on my name.
Day 4: Today I programed my Micro-Bit to have a heart beat.
Day 5: Today I worked on making my cardboard challenge site better and updating it.
Day 6: Today I programed my Micro-bit to have a step counter and then I took a video of it and then I uploaded it. And the after I made rock paper scissors but couldn't take a video.
Day 7: Today me and Karmyn made rock paper scissors together and then we took a video and then we uploaded it.
Reflections:
Using a Micro-Bit that Mr. Renner provided, I created a rock, paper, scissors shoot game because that was on of the three things I wanted to make first and I think that it was a fun game to make and it was really easy to make.
During this process, I learned that programming Micro-Bits are a lot easier then I thought and you can sync a lot of things together and make fun little creations that you can improve over time.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Thinker because I have to think about what projects to do and improve them over time and I have to try and come up with new ideas to do that would work with the type of Micro-Bit.
A challenge I overcame on this project was I could find all of the things you would need for certain program I was able to do it by asking around because other people in my class might of done the same thing as me and they could help me with my project.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the type of Micro-Bit that we had. The reason why I would change it is because with the other Micro-Bit you could do more advanced and upgraded projects.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to Computer Programming because I am programming my Micro-Bit what I want it to do. My project connects to careers in Game Programming/Game Design.
