Using, cardboard, I created a safe/desk with a functional lock and trick lock because, my group made an arcade with a ball toss, punching game, and crane machine, and we needed a place for our money and a desk for the front desk person, me.
During the process, I learned that hot glue takes longer to warm up, glue, and dry than I thought. Also cutting equal sized circles is harder than it looks. Bending, ripping apart and gluing thick cardboard isn't easy but easy enough to get it done.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I'm using different materials such as a hot glue gun, pencil, and cardboard, to make the safe solves the stolen money problem.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the thick cardboard not cooperating with all the cutting, gluing, bending, and ripping. I was able to do it by help from my partners.
Given the chance to do this again, I would change the bulkiness and how big it was. The reason why I would change it is because I would have never filled up all the space and it would have too much empty space.
