8P7

Daily Log:

• Using Scratch Programming, I created 8P7 because I wanted to upgrade my coding skills from a lower level, to a more

advanced coding technique. I also created 8P7 because I wanted to learn to do something new from a higher level.

• During this process, I learned you can do something if you put your mind to it and that no matter what, you can achieve

your goal if you really try.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, 

Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner 

because I took 8P6 and made a 3D ray casting game on scratch programming.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out how to put the coding for the ray casting on scratch to make the 

game. I was able to do it by watching a video on youtube by griffpatch for the coding to make a 3D ray casting game.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change how the level was drawn for the ray casting game. The reason why I would 

change it is because I would add more obstacles for the person playing the game so it wouldn't be as easy as a normal game.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer 

Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, 

Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School.  

• My project connects to careers in programming and coding because Scratch is a programming site to make games, etc. 

Scratch also is a coding site to make codes, like to code different object to do different things to make something like a 

fun game, or an educational game, or art, and animations.
