5. I am trying to get the chair to not look as scrappy and making it stronger.

6. I am trying to make the back sit up because it keeps falling.

7. Testing out the chair and adding popsicle stick springs to make it stronger + adding a top layer

• Using cardboard, I created a chair because I wanted to see how much weight cardboard can hold.

• During this process, I learned You need a lot of structure to build something with cardboard .

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge constructer because I had to figure out all the things to use to make the chair stronger.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was making it hold even the slightest weight. I was able to do it by making a spring by using popsicle sticks.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the amount of cardboard inside the base of the chair. The reason why I would change it is because There was not enough.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Construction Trades CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Engineering, carpeting.
