~Using micro-bits I created a mini-story of what someone's day would be like. Mine was a guy who woke up went for a run and came back to eat breakfast, then go to work( as a doctor checking the IV stand, and then go to bed. I didn't have a reason for creating this mini-story I just thought of is as I was making something else.
~During this process I learned how to use a micro bit, I used https://microbit.org/get-started/first-steps/set-up/ to help me learn how to program it. I also figured out how to do simple things like making a beating heart, by trying different things. That's how I was able to create my mini-story, by trying different things.
~There are 7 standards to this class, one standard I think my project ties into is digital citizen because the micro bit is a very powerful piece of technology. Another standard I would so that ties into my project, would be innovative designer because i create a story, that happens to be digital. Lastly, a standard that I would say ties into my project is global collaborator because you can access how I made it from this site.
~ A challenge I over come was in the beginning, when I couldn't figure out how to download my program to the micro bit. I was able to do it by watching a few videos(https://microbit.org/get-started/first-steps/set-up/) to learn how to transfer the program to the micro bit. Once I was able to watch the video I was still a little confused but after figuring it out with the help of a few classmates I was able to be what I intended to- transfer my program to the micro bit.
~ Given a chance to do this again I would have spent less time on watching videos and looking at websites to figure out how to use it correctly and more time trying it myself. I would also try to do something harder like a traffic light system or a compass instead of a mini-story. The reason I would change this is because its not that good of a project, Its a little too simple, so I would create a better project that was harder/ more challenging.
~There are many programs in the High School, my project connects to the computer programming CTE program because the only way to get the micro bit to do what you want it to, you have to program it on a computer. Careers my project also connects with is advertisements because you can code advertisements on bill boards, or on the board of what there is to eat at McDonald's, along many other things.Another job could be creating digital watches, because you could use micro bits to help program the watch to do what you want it to.
This is a video of my final product but its easier to see.
Here's a video of my final product on the micro bit.
These are screenshots of my coding in order because it didn't fit in just one.
