What materials will you need for your project?

Cardboard, a partner, me, and iPad [Maybe]

What is your plan to create in this project?

A pirate chest!!

What unique qualities will your project have?

It'll be able to open/close and it'll have shiny stuff inside!!

Day 1. We learned what we were doing and made 10 good ideas, and the planning questions.

Day 2. We started working on the box for the pirate chest, and it was made of poptart boxes!!

Day 3. We stared to figure out how to make the lid open/close, and added sides to it.

Day 4. We made the lid and broke a CD in half to make a handle.

Day 5. We added little shiny stuff to it, and put shiny stuff in it!!! Like coins and stuff!!

Partner made the video, I got some of the pictures.

Using cardboard, we created a pirate chest, because pirates are cool, and eye-eye matey!! But actually, we made it because collecting shiny stuff is fun and pirates are just really, REALLY, REALLY, cool.
During this process, I learned teamwork, figuring out how to make stuff open, and the art of cardboard [I've worked with cardboard before, lol].
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer, because we tested out different methods to get the top of the chest to open and close.
A challenge I overcame on this project was teamwork. I was able to do it by having myself to work with a partner even though I didn't want to.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the design. The reason why I would change it is because I think it could've just been a just a better design and looked nicer.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in design work to make and design something. This also goes with being able to make stuff to sell?? [I don't know.]
