FINAL PROJECT
Using a Chromebook, I created a reverse-engineering project because I wanted to understand the internal parts and how they connect.
During this process, I learned how each component of the Chromebook (keyboard, screen, battery, motherboard) plays a role in making the device work.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor and Computational Thinker because I gathered information about the Chromebook’s design and figured out how the parts interact through analysis and problem-solving.
A challenge I overcame on this project was identifying the smaller parts and their functions. I was able to do it by researching and labeling them carefully.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how I organized my notes. The reason why I would change it is because it would make labeling and explaining the parts faster and clearer.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming and Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in computer hardware engineering and IT support because both require understanding how devices work and how to diagnose or improve them.
