At Haslingden High School, we have a number of MFD (Multi-Function Devices) around the school which can perform printing, photocopying and scanning.
The MFDs are located in:
Greens Lane - Near Exams Office/LSF
Pigeon Hole Room (Next to Library and Staff Room)
Sixth Form Reception
Sixth Form Foyer
Reprographics - Broadway (2x B/W, 1x Colour)
English Block
All MFDs can print and copy on A3 & A4 paper. Most are colour printers, with the exception of the two larger machines in the reprographics room, which are mono only
All MFDs can also scan documents, staple, hole punch and saddle stitch
All printing and copying is charged back to departmental budgets. If you need to be able to charge print jobs to multiple departments, please contact IT and we can add you to the relevant departments
If you need any assistance printing or photocopying, our reprographics technician is available to assist. The reprographics room is located in Broadway, opposite B34
If you need assistance with the printing stickers/ID badges, charging to departments, or with IT printing issues, please use the Spiceworks app on your iPad, or email help@haslingdenhigh.com to contact IT Support
You need your ID badge in order to log in to the MFD. Simply press your badge onto the reader, and it will log you in. If you have lost your ID badge, you can log in to the MFD using your PC username (NOT including @haslingdenhigh.com) and your password. Staff and Sixth Form Students can print, copy and scan in this way.
If you have lost your badge please let us know and we can create a new one for you.
Anything printed to the 'Follow You Print' printer from a school computer, or anything printed via PaperCut Mobility CloudPrint will be held in a print queue until it is released by you.
You can collect your printing from any MFD in school
No documents are released from the printer until you log into the printer and print them
Documents will stay in the queue for 48 hours before they are deleted
1: Login as usual, by presenting your ID badge to the card reader on the MFD
2: Press the 'Print Release' button
3: Optional: Select which department to charge the job to
4: Select the documents, and press 'Print'
A new feature in PaperCut allows you to amend some options to your print jobs directly on the MFD before you release the print job.
You can amend the number of copies, choose between colour and grayscale and change between single-sided and double-sided (duplex) printing
Login as usual, by presenting your ID badge to the card reader on the MFD

If you need help with advanced copying (folding, stapling, booklets etc.) please see the Reprographics Technician
You can use the MFDs to scan documents to either your home drive on the network, or to your email. This is useful and more environmentally friendly way to electronically distribute documents to students' iPads via Showbie or Google Classroom. The scanning quality is much better than taking a photo of a worksheet with your iPad camera! Scanned PDFs can be saved into Google Drive, for future reference, or using with other classes.
Login as usual, by presenting your ID badge to the card reader on the MFD
Choose the 'Scan' option on the screen
You can then choose 'Scan to Home Folder' or 'Scan to My Email'
You can then choose any options you require, then press 'Start'
Google CloudPrint is soon to be discontinued by Google and will no longer work after 31st December 2020
PaperCut have recently released a feature update that allows very similar functionality. This is called PaperCut Mobility CloudPrint. Currently this only works from within Google Chrome, however a Mac solution is in development. (You can still print from Macs, but only via Google Chrome)
March 2021 Update - A MacOS solution has now been released, and details of how to install it are below.
This process is very similar for Macs and PCs., but the screenshots here are from a Mac.
Open the link from above, and click the 'Download and run Mobility Print'
The app will then download onto your Mac and you will need to install it
Once installed, go back to this screen and click 'Connect and get my printers'
This process is very similar for Macs and PCs., but the screenshots here are from a Mac.
5. This screen will then appear, and the 'Follow You Print' will be installed onto your Mac
6. When you try and print directly from your Mac, choose the "Follow You Print [Virtual Queue] (Mobility)" printer
7. Enter your username (the first part of your email but NOT including @haslingdenhigh.com) and your PC/RMUnify/Google password.
8. Your documents should then be sent to the print queue. You will be able to collect the from any MFD using your ID badge as normal
You need to be using Google Chrome
Sign in to Google Chrome using your School Google Account (Your @haslingdenhigh.com email address) It will not work from a personal GMail account

You should see the following screen
Click in the 'Destination' box and choose 'See More'
A list of printers will now appear
You must be signed in with your HHS Google Account or this will not work
Choose the 'Follow You Print - [Virtual Queue]' (It's the one with the green Mobility Print icon)

Your document(s) will then go to the print queue and can be released from any of the photocopiers in school.
In the past, to be able to charge to multiple departments, you HAD to use a computer, and choose your department using the PaperCut popup. This is still available if using a PC in school, but on Macbooks and other BYOD or mobile devices, the new PaperCut Mobility CloudPrint system allows you to select your department at the MFD/photocopier just before you release the print job.
Departments are set up by the IT Technicians, you cannot do this yourself. If you work in multiple departments or teach multiple subjects and need adding to different department printing budgets, please raise a support ticket via Spiceworks and we can do this for you.
At the Printer/Photocopier/MFD
Login as usual, by presenting your ID badge to the card reader on the MFD
Print Release: Print any jobs you have sent to 'Follow You Print'
Access Device: Use the MFD for photocopying
Scan: Scan documents and have them emailed directly to you, or saved to your network user area.
Print Release
If you choose the 'Print Release' option, you will see the following screen.
All your currently pending print jobs will be listed here.
You can now select which department you want to charge for each print job.
If you have printed from a school PC and used the popup to choose your department then this is not relevant.
If PaperCut Mobility CloudPrint doesn't work, there are a few steps you can check first.
Make sure you are connected to WiFi (This doesn't have to be in school)
Make sure you are using Google Chrome
Make sure you are signed into Google Chrome with your School Google Account
Make sure Sync is on
In Google Chrome, go to: chrome://extensions
Make sure the 'Mobility Print' extension is there. (This should appear automatically)
If it is missing, make sure you have checked all the steps above, and restart Chrome, or restart your device.
If you are still stuck, please use the Spiceworks app on your iPad, or email help@haslingdenhigh.com to contact IT Support
