Some of the first medical diagnoses from humans were dependent on observation. These ancient doctors would only use their eyes and ears to examine a human. One example of these old methods is to test body fluids like urine and saliva. However, it has become very modern in today’s world with the use of radiation. In the U.S., half of all radiation exposure is because of exposure from medical imaging. These images are necessary, however, as they are used to looking for everything from broken bones to cancers. With these images, medical professionals can measure, manage, treat, and prevent various illnesses (Hussain et al.).
