A Scan Into the Future
"Radiology is the hinge on which modern medicine turns." -Sir Godfrey
Radiology interests me because it is the career path that I am interested in. I first became interested in this field when I broke my ankle. I was 13 years old when I went in to get an x-ray. I was very interested when they said the x-ray had to be sent in to be read, because I always thought they would read it right in the E.R. This sparked the interest in me to start my career towards radiology. I am curious to know what the future of radiology holds, as I will hopefully be experiencing some of the researched areas later in life. I was led in the direction of researching this because recently I have been looking at college. I am researching this field to develop a good understanding of what is in store for me if I stay on this career path. This is important because it directly affects my future life. I am passionate about radiology because I really think it is cool how all the technology works, and I would like to help injured people and possibly give hope in dark moments. I hope to learn about the current imaging techniques and techniques that may be used in the future. The quote I chose is, “Radiology is the hinge on which modern medicine turns,” by Sir Godfrey. Sir Godfrey created the CT in 1979. Many years later, the quote still rings true. Advances in technology continue to happen at a rapid pace. This quote gives me hope as radiology can advance to ultimately save lives.
