Hurricane Hustle: Saturday was a beautiful morning for our Finding Our Stride run with all the district's Finding Our Stride Teams. Thank you all who came out to start your morning with us for a run! We loved that even some families joined in with the running. It was the perfect way to start the weekend.
Week 5: Our character strength for this week was perspective. We talked about that people see things in different ways. You can understand the world from multiple points of view. Our nutrition topic was protein. The challenge for the week was to notice what protein is on your plate at every meal. On Wednesday started practice with a "snowball greeting". For our workout we ran the hill on the playground to get ready for the Hurricane Hustle Saturday. The runners also did an obstacle course where we cheered on each other. We also ran laps around the school. Friday we played with water! Next week is our final week of practice- hard to believe the end of the season is almost here!
Week 4: Perseverance was our character strength for the week. On Wednesday, teams had to work together and encourage each other on completing some tasks indoors (during the thunderstorm). The runners even got to run through the halls in one of the stations! Our nutrition topic was Eating a Rainbow. On Wednesday, we ate a rainbow of fruits! Some runners demonstrated bravery by trying a new fruit. Their challenge for the week was to try to eat as many different naturally colored foods as possible each day this week.
Week 3: Our character strength for the week was kindness. As a team, we talked about how we can show kindness to each other during running club. Our nutrition topic was Eating a Healthy Plate. We ran relay races trying to build a healthy plate: 1/2 fruits and veggies, 1/4 protein, and 1/4 grains.
Week 2: This was a short practice week. The character strength we focused on today was enthusiasm. Be sure to ask your runner the chant they came up with in small groups at practice. Our nutrition topic The Sugar Bomb. Their challenge for the weekend is to try to identify a snack food that is high in sugar and find a healthy alternative. We were able to enjoy the beautiful afternoon with a few running stations.

We ended practice by playing the Continuity Ball game. We had to work together to keep the ball in the air.
