Wit & Wisdom - Units of Study

*Learning new vocabulary words is a large part of building knowledge for reading comprehension in this program.

We will be completing many writing assignments throughout the year including personal narratives, informational writing, research writing, opinion writing, and fiction(narratives).  There is a heavy emphasis on planning prior to written tasks.  

The "We Write Initiative" will continue this year in the classroom with daily writing prompts both for school and home support through Google Classroom folder.  

Word Study(Phonics, Spelling) - Our students will be learning how words work for encoding and decoding skills using the Level 3 Fundations program.  Unit Family Letters will be sent home to help understand the skills we are working on for that specific unit. Please use that to help your child with any home assignments and prepare/study for the unit assessments.
