Here is my favorite part of my school's student led writing center. Our goal is to ease the mind of every student that enters. We figured that the only way to do this is to make a comfy and cozy setting to complete work. My favorite part is on the couch! As you can see above, presented are all of the intelligent writing fellows that dedicate their time to learn how to tutor others and listen appropriately.
Above, is a jumbo waffle cone of Mud Pie with sprinkles and a cherry on top. A visual representation of myself through ice cream. In my college essay, I express the past four years of my life through this flavor with the addition of the toppings. Don't be fooled, this cone was devoured 2 seconds later!
At my school's student led writing center, I have the opportunity to work with my peers one-on-one and answer questions about a piece of writing they enter with. As I sit side by side with them, I ensure that I listen carefully with respect as they read aloud their piece. I was trained to focus on higher order concerns to look out for as we work together, which has also helped me edit my own personal writing. Just by being present, I help each student leave more confident in themselves and also in their writing!
