🏥 Community 🏥

Every week I strive to share my time with my community and give back to those in need. I volunteer at Greenwich Hospital and I have had the most amazing experience so far! I love nothing more than helping out in the gift shop and talking to all of the customers. 

Greenwich hosptial has been the place where I can physically portray my love for helping others in need. My goal is to major in biology on the pre-medical track to become a doctor one day. I have always had a passion for science and working in the medical field and this volunteer opportunity has enabled me to make stronger connections with doctors, nurses, patients, and visitors. Each interaction that I have had here is so memorable to me and makes me even more excited to begin my journey in healthcare. 

My favorite part of volunteering at the gift shop is talking to each customer and letting them share emotions across happy ones, sad ones, and nervous emotions. I learned through my job and the student led writing center that being present is the most important thing. My favorite section of the gift shop is the baby section where I get to restock the pink and blue stuffed animals. Anytime a customer comes in to buy one, I get so excited and instantly spark a conversation which, in the end, turns into something so special between me and a stranger.
