Learn to Row

HRCR cuoffers regular Learn to Row (LTR) programs in the spring and summer. Each Learn To Row program has approximately six sessions and covers the basics of fun and safe rowing, including safe equipment handling, terminology, and the fundamentals of the sport. No prior rowing experience is necessary and all adults 18+ who meet the requirements listed below are eligible to participate. Please note that Row New York offers extensive programming for minors and they are located close by at the Peter Jay Sharp Boathouse in Inwood.

All sessions launch from our shared dock at Muscota Marsh in Inwood (northern Manhattan). After successful completion of LTR, participants are able to participate in the open Masters Rowing.

Requirements:

HRCR is volunteer-driven and the only adult rowing program in New York City. To make our programs as accessible as possible, all HRCR programming is free of cost to participants. On average, participation in one session costs about $15 (equipment, insurance, coaching), and we rely on donations to cover these expenses. If you are able, please consider donating here.
