Meet Our Coaches

JAMES MARSDEN
I rowed in high school and college in the UK and started coaching my old college team in Oxford in 2009. I coached in the UK for 14 years including winning the Oxford Head of the River trophy in 2021. I love HRCR's inclusive ethos, the great range of experience in the club, and especially that the dock is 150 yards from my front door!
LAUREN DICKERSON
I started coaching in 2016 for a high school team in Buffalo, NY. I hopped on with HRCR last year (2023) and enjoy seeing a boat come together in practice from the pick drill through the final piece!
SOPHIE CHALSMA
I started coaching in 2014 for my high school team's Learn to Row program, and I started coaching with HRCR in 2022, coaching both Learn to Row and weekend recreational sessions. I love meeting everyone who is interested in learning to row and getting to see them find love for a sport that I love so much!
