Leonardo Da Vinci

Leonardo Da vinci is probably the first person you would think of when you heard "Renaissance". Your teacher probably decribes him as a great genius, however, the word "genius" can not describe Leonardo Da vinci's whole life.

Childhood

Leonardo da Vinci was born in April 15, 1452, in a small village called Anchiano, which is located in today Florence, Italy. His father, Messer Piero Fruosino di Antonio da Vinci, was a legal notary, which is a pretty wealthy social class during the Renaissance. But Da Vinci's mother, was a peasant.

Da Vinci's parents loved their son very much, but because of some reasons, his parents splited up and lived their own lives. So, during the first 5 years, Da Vinci lived with his mother, but after those years, Da Vinci was seperated from his mother and went living with his father. However, his father married 4 more wifes, which made da vinci have 12 more brothers and sisters.

Professional life

Da Vinci started his professional life when he was 24 years old. He and his teacher painted Da Vinci"s first known painting, however, about in 1472-1475. The painting was called Annunciation. Later on, even though Da Vinci became a famous painter, he still cooperated with his teacher for a few paintings, including the famous painting Baptism Of Christ. Later on, Da Vinci finally painted his first individual painting, The Aboration of Magi. He painted it after he created his own art workshop. Even though it was known as Da Vinci's first painting, but eventually it stayed unfinished. Not only studying arts, Leonardo was an inventor and a scientist, too. In his notebook, it is fulled of drawings about inventions, human body, and the enviorment. His thoughts was over his time. For example, he drew tanks and crossbows in his notebook, but these inventions were actually invented hundreds of years later. He discovered where the uterus is located, and the most intresting thing is that he wrote his noteook with mirror words! Mirror word is a kind of extremly hard writing, when you read it, you have to read it backwards plus upside down. Da Vinci is such a genius!


Old life

After moving into so many places, Da Vinci finally settled in France. He eventually started his quiet life painting and thinking about more inventions. Many people believed that Da Vinci drew his last known painting, St. John the Baplist. After these quiet years, this fantastic genius finally breathed his last breath in May 2, 1519. Even though he passed away, but his legancy was still remembered today.
