Week 3
AUGUST 25-29
We are having a great time together! I am enjoying getting to know your sweet children! We have such a sweet class family!
This is our last week learning this week's memory verse! Let's continue to practice it daily at home and at school! Thank you for your partnership on this!
I would love to have volunteers during our center times from 10:00-11:00 daily. Please let the office know if you would like to volunteer at any capacity on our campus. They will give you a background check first, and then will let me know when you can come into our classroom to volunteer! Thank you so much for your sweet offers to help our class already!
Memory Verse
MEMORY VERSE: "And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God."
Colossians 1:10a
(Kindergarten/1st grade Version)
A test will be given on Friday August 29 to see how well your student can remember this verse. This will be placed in the Gradebook. Remembering God's Word helps us in so many areas of life. I will help your student remember the words with actions and guidance, during the test. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Please review this memory verse with your child. This is the Kindergarten version of our school - wide memory verse. Please partner with us and practice this memory verse with your child daily.
During our Creation Unit, we have been worshipping God with this song every day! Here is the LINK to the Creation Song we have been singing in class! LINK

OUR HOMEWORK:
High Frequency Words (Sight Words) /Math Facts
LETTER C:
We have been learning how to form the letter Cc in class, and will continue to learn all about this letter this week. A test on the formation of the letter Cc, starting at the Strawberry line and curving down to the chocolate line, and up will be tested on Friday, August 29. A test on the letter Cc sound will also be tested on Friday, August 29. Your child will also be asked to identify the upper and lower case letter Cc in a group of letters on Friday August 29. Please let me know if you have any questions concerning this. I would love to partner with you to help you work at home with your child on this letter writing.
Our song from Superkids to make the letter Cc is: Hook around, Hook around.
NUMBERS 0-5:
We have been learning the numbers 0-5. These numbers all start at the Strawberry Line and I would love to partner with you to help your child write these numbers from the top of the line. Please let me know if you have any questions about this. Our songs:
1: Come right down and that is all to make the number 1.
2: Curve around and slide to the right to make the number 2.
3: Curve in and around again to make the number 3.
4: Down, over, down some more to make the number 4.
5: Down, around, put on a hat, to make the number 5.
*This is a place where you will find High Frequency Words your students will be asked to review at home. We do not have High Frequency Words this week.
*Usually during the week, we will be learning Math Facts, practicing them in center time, and then asking parents to help students at home practice these Math Facts (example: 1+1). However, for the first beginning weeks of Kindergarten, your students are learning number sense: identifying numbers, writing them, and matching the correct number to the correct number of items. Stay tuned here for the Math Facts for homework in the future!
*Please practice number and letter writing with your child at home. I have sent an email home about this on Sunday, August 24. Please let me know if you have any questions.
