Week 2
AUGUST 18-22
We had a FANTASTIC first couple days of school last week! I am excited for our Week 2 together!
I am so blessed to have the opportunity to teach your students this year! I have prayed over each of your students over the weekend and I am very excited to spend the Kindergarten year with your children!
We celebrated our sweet Mrs. Gonzalez's birthday on Friday! Your child will get to know her throughout this school year as she is in our class in the mornings! We are so blessed to have her in our class, and we are so grateful for her!
Memory Verse
MEMORY VERSE: "And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God."

DRESS CODE
Please check the HCS handbook for the dress code rules. Your child will be talked to with an administrator if they are not in dress code.
Please be mindful of the dress code at our school. A full explanation of the dress code is found on P. 9 in the Parent/Student Handbook. Before your child leaves for school, please check that their shorts (6' inseam for 3rd and up) or skirt (for girls) are not too short, their shirts have sleeves and are not too short to show the midriff if their hand is raised, and that they have close toed shoes on. Leggings/bike shorts are only permitted for K-4th grade if the shirt is long enough to cover the bottom. Thanks for your help!
OUR HOMEWORK:
High Frequency Words (Sight Words) /Math Facts
*This is a place where you will find High Frequency Words your students will be asked to review at home. We do not have High Frequency Words this week.
*Usually during the week, we will be learning Math Facts, practicing them in center time, and then asking parents to help students at home practice these Math Facts (example: 1+1). However, for the first beginning weeks of Kindergarten, your students are learning number sense: identifying numbers, writing them, and matching the correct number to the correct number of items. Stay tuned here for the Math Facts for homework in the future!
*Please practice number writing with your child at home.
