Message from Mrs. Smith:
I hope that all of our families had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break. It is hard to believe that our Winter Break is just around the corner. Our students will be working hard over the next three weeks to end the First Semester STRONG! Our teachers will continue planning engaging instruction to help our students learn and grow. Our students will also be taking the MAP Assessment over the next few days. We look forward to seeing how much our students have GROWN. It is important for students to be here each day and work hard! If you have questions about your child's progress, please schedule an appointment with your child's teacher. Please keep reminding your student to READ at least 20 minutes each night and practice their math facts! Thank you for all that you do to support our school.
Family School Climate Survey:
Please take a moment to complete the Family School Climate Survey. We need as many families as possible to take the survey. Your feedback is important to us and will help our school grow. Thank you for helping us reach our goal of 100% Participation!

Parents, please be reminded that we do not allow edible "Birthday Treats". If you wish to celebrate your child, please send in a non-edible treat (stickers, pencils, etc.) We have many students that have allergies and we are trying to keep all students safe. Thank you for your help with this.
Lunch Visitors: Please click on the link below to review our "Lunch Visitor Guidelines" and to sign up to visit your child for lunch.

Please remember that ALL visitors MUST show a Photo ID to enter the building. This includes bringing your child in after 7:45 to check them in tardy. We prefer that ALL adults step to the Front Door Camera to show their ID. Once you are buzzed in, you may step to the Front Desk for help. Please help keep our students SAFE by not holding the door for visitors if you are entering and exiting the building.
Bus Rider Parents: Please make sure that there is an adult at the bus stop each day to meet your child. If there is not an adult, the bus will bring the child back to the school. Please use the link below for instructions on how to download the Transportation Ap. This will give you information on your child's bus route and location each day.

Car Rider Parents: You must enter the Car Rider Line from the White Sulphur Road Entrance. Students do not need be dropped off until your vehicle has merged into the one lane that runs in the front of the school. We have adults to assist students in getting out of the car. Students are not permitted to be dropped off in the back or side of the building. Students are not permitted to be dropped off in the front parking lot unless they are checking in late. Students should enter and exit the vehicle on the passenger side. Thank you for your help with this safety concern.
Updates from Mrs. York:
MAP Testing:
Winter MAP testing will take place the week of December 8th for all K-5 students.
Make-ups will be completed the week of December 15th.
MAP is a normed test that adapts to your child's responses in real time to measure your child's skill level. We test in both ELA and Math.
This will be our second administration of the MAP assessment this year and we will be tracking your child's growth from the Fall. We look forward to sharing your child's growth and progress in January.
2nd nine weeks ends = December 20th
Report Cards go Home = January 8th
One special way you can spend time with your child this holiday season is to read with them! If you'd like to keep track of your child's reading over the next THREE weeks, you can print out this tracker! If your child brings their completed reading tracker to the Learning Commons before we leave for Holiday break, they will be entered in a drawing for a special holiday treat!
If you're planning to go to Christmas on Green Street this Sunday, December 7th, come stop by the Gardens on Green for the chance to pick out a book!

Nerdy Nurse News
Medications: All medications should be brought to the school in a new, unopened container. Medication found on a student (without consent to self-carry) will be locked in the clinic until a parent is able to come sign consent or pick the medicine up.
Water Bottles: Students should have a water bottle each day. Please label your water bottles so we can return them if lost. Drinking water can help with headaches, sore throat, stomachaches, and help students to remain alert and focused.
Our last Falcon's Food Giveaway for the 25-26 school year will be December 9th from 11:00-1:30 and 3:00-4:00 (if supplies last).
💛 Quick Tip: Validate Before You Problem-Solve
When your child resists going to school, start by calmly acknowledging their feelings: “I know school feels hard today.” This helps your child feel understood and supported. Then, take the next step together by getting your child to school! Every day your child is present at school is a win!!
