We're making it easier to stay connected!
Hall County is transitioning from Remind to ParentSquare for all communication between school and home. This transition will take place at the beginning of May. In preparation for our families to begin communication through ParentSquare, we will be sending out an invitation via email to families to activate your account. Be looking for this communication to come out by the end of the week.

Message from Mrs. Smith:
It is hard to believe that we are about to have Spring Break. We hope that all of our families have a restful break. As we approach Spring Break, please remind your child to read at least 20 minutes a night and practice their fluency. If you have questions about your child's progress, please schedule a meeting with your child's teacher. We want all of our students to finish strong! If you have not completed our Family Survey, please do so by March 31st. Thank you for all of your support.
Car Rider Families-
Please remember that you must drop your students off where our adults are stationed.
Students are Tardy at 7:45.
Car Riders ends at 2:45.
Please do not try to drop your child off in the parking lot or around the side of the building.
Thank you for your help as we are trying to keep all students SAFE!
Family School Climate Survey:
Please take a moment to complete the Family School Climate Survey. We need as many families as possible to take the survey. Your feedback is important to us and will help our school grow. Thank you for helping us reach our goal of 100% Participation!

Parents, please be reminded that we do not allow edible "Birthday Treats". If you wish to celebrate your child, please send in a non-edible treat (stickers, pencils, etc.) We have many students that have allergies and we are trying to keep all students safe. Thank you for your help with this.
Lunch Visitors: Please click on the link below to review our "Lunch Visitor Guidelines" and to sign up to visit your child for lunch.

Please remember that ALL visitors MUST show a Photo ID to enter the building. This includes bringing your child in after 7:45 to check them in tardy. We prefer that ALL adults step to the Front Door Camera to show their ID. Once you are buzzed in, you may step to the Front Desk for help. Please help keep our students SAFE by not holding the door for visitors if you are entering and exiting the building.
Bus Rider Parents: Please make sure that there is an adult at the bus stop each day to meet your child. If there is not an adult, the bus will bring the child back to the school. Please use the link below for instructions on how to download the Transportation Ap. This will give you information on your child's bus route and location each day.

Car Rider Parents: You must enter the Car Rider Line from the White Sulphur Road Entrance. Students do not need be dropped off until your vehicle has merged into the one lane that runs in the front of the school. We have adults to assist students in getting out of the car. Students are not permitted to be dropped off in the back or side of the building. Students are not permitted to be dropped off in the front parking lot unless they are checking in late. Students should enter and exit the vehicle on the passenger side. Thank you for your help with this safety concern.

Updates from Mrs. York:
Spring MAP Testing:
Spring MAP testing will take place the week of March 30th for all K-5 students.
Make-ups will be completed the week of April 13th
MAP is a normed test that adapts to your child's responses in real time to measure your child's skill level. We test in both ELA and Math.
This will be our final administration of the MAP assessment this year and we will be tracking your child's growth from the Winter. We look forward to sharing your child's growth and progress.
GMAS:
The Georgia Milestone Assessment System (GMAS) spring schedule has been finalized. Please mark your calendars with these dates. Our 3rd -5th grades will participate in GMAS testing during the window of April 30th - May 15th. See parent information below from our district.
Join Mrs. York for all about Milestone Testing. She will be showing what the platform looks like and how to support your child during testing.
Join your child for some fun reading time. This event is for all grade levels. We are excited to see our students read with their families!
Please encourage your child to read at least 20 minutes each day during our Spring Break! If you want to help track your child's reading, you can use one of these Spring Break Reading Challenges. If your child turns in a completed reading challenge sheet, they will receive a small prize.

Medications: All medications should be brought to the school in a new, unopened container. Medication found on a student (without consent to self-carry) will be locked in the clinic until a parent is able to come sign consent or pick the medicine up.
Water Bottles: Students should have a water bottle each day. Please label your water bottles so we can return them if lost. Drinking water can help with headaches, sore throat, stomachaches, and help students to remain alert and focused.

💛 Quick Tip: Connect! 🏵️
When you are feeling irritated by your child it is usually because they are looking for your attention. Even though you may not be able to give it right away, make a note that they are asking for some one on one time and plan it.
