Message from Mrs. Smith:
Happy New Year! I hope that all of our families enjoyed a well- deserved winter break! As we begin a "New Year" and our Second Semester of school, it will be important for our students to work really hard to build their reading and math skills. They need to be reading every night and practicing their fluency skills. Our teachers will be working hard to use our latest MAP data to adjust and inform instruction that will meet the needs of our students. If you have questions about your child's academic progress, please reach out to your child's teacher. I would like to thank PTO for the wonderful breakfast and gift that they provided for our teachers. I appreciate all of the effort of this team!
ALL Car Riders must have a 2023-2024 Car Rider Number. For safety purposes, each family will be issued a new car rider number for the 2023-2024 school year. If you need additional car rider tags, you may purchase them in the Front Office for $5.00.
Parents, please do not try to enter the building through the Car Rider doors. Please see a staff member if your child forgot an item. If you need to enter the building, please come to the Front Office with a Photo ID. Thank you.
Transportation Changes: ALL transportation changes need to be sent to RESfrontoffice@hallco.org BEFORE 2:00 each day.
We still have Riverbend T- Shirts for sale in the Front Office. Please send an order form and $12.00 to the front office.
Lunch Visitors:
All visitors must present a photo ID and get a visitor badge in the Front Office. Visitors must be on the approved list in IC to come visit. Lunch visitors will report to the lunchroom and wait for their child's class at the top of the ramp. Visitors will need to sit on the stage with their child only. We do not allow any outside food or drinks in the cafeteria. Once your child's lunch period is over, visitors will need to exit the building though the Front Office.
Star Rock Café / T-shirt Guidelines: English Spanish
Here are the guidelines on how students earn Star Rock Cafe each nine weeks as well as goals for earning t-shirts in reading and math. We look forward to celebrating student accomplishments throughout the year.
Updates from Mrs. York:
MAP Testing:
We had a successful Winter administration of MAP testing.
Teachers will be sending home a family report with report cards to share your child's performance on this assessment. Please review over this information and let your child's teacher know if you have any questions.
Report Cards go Home - January 5th
ACCESS Testing:
ACCESS testing is for our English Language (EL) learners. We will begin at the end of the month and test throughout a three week period. Students will be tested in four areas: listening, reading, speaking & writing. Mrs. Hucks and Mrs. Noffsinger will be working with students this month in preparation for ACCESS testing.
Parents, please encourage your child to get a good night sleep, eat a healthy breakfast (at home or school) and try their best during testing.
