NEWS FROM THE FRONT OFFICE

Wow! It is crazy to think February has come and gone and we're headed into March. Exciting things are happening at CMCSI, and we are continuing to see our Warriors learn and grow. Read Across America Week is this week, and we love getting our Warriors even more excited about Reading. We will continue with Enrichment Clusters, MARC Awards and service learning projects during March.

Kindergarten Registration opens March 16th for our newest students. We'll also have our first ever Spring Fling hosted by PTO on March 12th. It's great to be a Warrior!

Students will have March 20th off as it will be a professional learning day for teachers. Spring Break will be here before we know it as well.

Read Across America Week

March 2nd-March 6th is Read Across America Week . We have lots of fun activities planned including theme days listed on the image below. Also, guest readers have been invited by teachers and media specialist as well to read to our Warriors. We look forward to spreading the love for reading even more during this week!

Kindergarten Registration

Welcome New Warriors! We are thrilled to welcome students who will be entering Kindergarten during the 26-27 school year. Kindergarten Registration will take place March 16th-19th for students who will be 5 years old by September 1st, 2026. Registration will once again be held online. Beginning Monday March 16th, please visit the Hall County Schools registration website to register your child for Kindergarten (please do NOT register before March 16, as the correct application will not be available in advance and early applications will be deleted).

If you have another child who already attends a Hall County School AND you've set up a Parent Portal through Infinite Campus, you may register your child using the Parent Portal by simply selecting "add a child." This will be a quicker way to complete the registration process. We encourage you to share this information with your neighbors who have children entering Kindergarten, as well.
If you need help with registration, you may come by the school March 16th-20th from 9AM-2PM. Also, staff will be available to help with registration/use school devices if you are unable to register online without assistance.

2nd/3rd and K/1st Student Showcase Nights

We’re looking forward to our next Student Showcase Nights of the year on Thursday, March 5th for 2nd & 3rd Grade and Thursday, March 19th for Kindergarten and 1st Grade!

Please see the schedule below. All students will have the opportunity to visit their homeroom classrooms to showcase their projects and student work from this year in addition to participating in student-led conferences. We will also have an Art Show where student art work is displayed in our hallways and students will also have a musical performance in the gym. We look forward to seeing our Warriors and their families at our amazing Student Showcase nights this year!

Student Led Conferences

This semester, all students in grades K–5 will participate in student-led conferences as part of our upcoming Showcase Nights. During these conferences, students will share examples of their work and reflect on their academic progress, behavior, and overall school performance throughout the year. We are excited to provide this meaningful opportunity for students to take ownership of their learning and to celebrate their individual strengths while identifying areas for growth.

Families who would like to schedule an individual conference with their child’s teacher are welcome to do so by reaching out directly to arrange an in-person, Zoom, or telephone meeting.

Spring Fling

Make plans to join us for our 1st annual Spring Fling on Thursday, March 12th from 5PM-7PM on the field at CMCSI. This is a FREE event for our CMCSI families. There will be lots of inflatables and fun for our Warriors. Also, there will be food, drinks & snacks for sale. Don't miss out, Warriors!

Spring Picture Day

Class Pictures & Spring Pictures are March 20 at CMCSI! ORDERS MUST BE PLACED IN ADVANCE for Class (Group) Pictures. Order online at www.strawbridge.net and use the code: FM470065 to order. Individual pictures do not need to be ordered in advance, and can be ordered after proofs are sent home. Smile, Warriors!

PurposeFULL People

We are excited to share that we will be using a program called PurposeFull People this year. This program teaches skills that will help students be successful in school and in life.

We believe that students should have safe, predictable places to learn where they feel included. Students should have healthy and helpful connections with teachers and classmates. They should also experience learning that will help them tackle challenges inside and outside of school. PurposeFull People is more than a set of lessons - it is a partnership between schools and families to create a place where students feel like they belong and learn skills that will help them be the best they can be!

CMCSI Field Days

Hip Hip Hooray! Field Days are just around the corner & we are looking forward to having our students participate in Fun activities!

Students will once again participate in stations and Field Day activities with their homerooms.
Volunteers & visitors will be allowed on Field Days (with state-issued ID; no siblings or non-CMCSI students). More information to come!
Monday, March 30: K and 1st
Tuesday March 31: 2nd and 3rd
Wednesday, April 1: 4th and 5th
Students should wear sunscreen and a hat, bring a towel & water bottle, and wear comfortable shoes & clothes.
Frozen Frenzee will be here all field days and available for purchase for $3 each (more information to come).

Dress Code Reminders

As we approach Spring and warmer temperatures, please remember our CMCSI's dress code policy. The entire policy can be found in our CMCSI Parent & Student Handbook.

Please see several reminders below:

1. Shoes must be worn at all times. No cleats or shoes with wheels are permitted. Rubber flip flops are discouraged as they often break during the school day. Tennis shoes should be worn on days students have P.E.

2. Halters, spaghetti straps, tube tops, and other beach-type attire should not be worn; even in the hot days of spring & summer.

3. T-Shirts advertising alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, drugs, gang affliation or inappropriate content are not allowed.

4. Hats and hoods may not be work inside the building except on designated "hat day."

5. Sagging or baggy pants are not allowed.

6. Shorts must be at fingertip length and/or no more than 6" from knee.

Volunteer information

We appreciate the support of volunteers at CMCSI! Hall County Schools and CMCSI continue to make the safety of our students a priority. In order to keep our students safe, ALL volunteers must complete an application and training BEFORE volunteering at CMCSI this school year. Once BOTH steps are completed, volunteers will be notified of approval within 2 weeks of submitting their application. Approval must be received BEFORE any volunteer time is approved.

Volunteers must have a pre-arranged appointment with teachers or staff to assist at CMCSI. Please sign-up to volunteer for school-wide events (Walk-a-thon, Field Day, etc.) with PTO here.

Volunteers must sign-in at the front office with ID and wear a badge while in the building. ONLY volunteers who have completed the required questionnaire and Mandated Reporter training will have the option to sign-in to volunteer on the kiosk.

Volunteers must follow any required safety procedures in effect at CMCSI, which are subject to change.

Volunteers may not bring siblings, children or other visitors with them into CMCSI.

Volunteers are Mandated Reporters as defined by the State of Georgia. All volunteers are required by state law to report suspected abuse or neglect of children to school administration immediately.

Car Rider Reminders

For the safety of our students and staff, during morning drop-off for car-riders, all parents must remain in their car and go through the car-rider line. There is no walking students into school or to the front door, or sending students across the crosswalk. Parents are ONLY allowed to escort their child into the building if they are new to the school or have medication to drop-off. Please plan accordingly, and arrive early enough to go through the car-rider line.
Also, for the safety of all children and staff, please make sure younger siblings are not sitting in the driver's lap as you move through the morning and afternoon car rider line.
Our tardy bell rings at 7:45 am each morning.
If students are late, parents will need to use the outdoor camera/call button. Students will be walked in by a staff member after notifying our front office using our intercom system. If no staff is at the drop-off point, parents must exit their vehicle and accompany their child to check them in.
Please have your child exit your car from the PASSENGER SIDE each day, for their safety.

Lunchroom Positions Available

Our cafeteria currently has one positions available. If you are interested in applying for our vacant lunchroom monitor, please email Courtney Overby at Courtney.Overby@hallco.org. Reminders about Lunch Visitors

For the safety of all students, please note the following:

For your child's lunch visit, 1 or 2 adults may join; No school-age siblings and younger children must be in lap or stroller (due to limited seats).
Each student may have a visit for lunch 1 time per month to allow ALL students and parents this opportunity.
Restaurant food will be allowed to be brought into CMCSI for students or visitors.
Visitors must sign in at the front office with a state-issued ID (no exceptions).
Lunch visitors should eat in the visitor seating area located in the gym lobby next to the cafeteria. Visitors may not eat in the cafeteria, gym or classroom.
After signing in and getting a sticker, lunch visitors will meet their child in the gym lobby as his/her class enters the cafeteria and sign-out in the main office after the lunch period ends.
Lunch visitors may not return to the classroom, playground, etc. with students.
Lunch visitors may have lunch with your child ONLY. Other students (including friends, relatives, and neighbors) cannot join your lunch visit.
Visitors may purchase lunch in the cafeteria for $5.10 each (cash or check only).
Lunch visitors must be listed on a student's enrollment card prior to coming in for lunch.

A La Carte Items for Sale

Our cafeteria will be selling a la carte items (chips, cookies, crackers) for $1. You can send $1 with your child or they can use money from their My Payment Plus account. Students will not be able to charge these items to their account.

Spirit Nights

CMCSI Spirit Nights take place each month! If your family visits the restaurant or drive-thru on our CMCSI Spirit Night, a portion of the sales will be donated to the school! Be sure to tell the restaurant you are there for CMCSI Spirit Night (for CMCSI to get credit!).
