I tried mountain biking with a bunch of coworkers over 25 years ago and was immediately hooked! A few years later, I started working at a bike shop part time, bought a new bike and discovered sprint racing (Root 66 series). I then realized I liked long events much more than sprints, so I completed 24 hour races solo (Churn & Burn, and 24 Hours of Great Glen). I would call myself a cross-country endurance junkie. Over the years I’ve worked with ladies groups through Trek Bicycle Newington, and Women on Wheels in Connecticut. I don’t compete as I did before, but you will still find me pedaling every chance I get, and my name pops up on long events here and there.

I am a mountain biker, bike shop owner, coach and community builder who loves creating spaces where women feel strong and capable on and off the bike. I coach with an emphasis on body mechanics, trail flow, and skill progression, meeting riders where they are and helping them take the next step with confidence. My approach blends technical instruction with encouragement, helping riders feel both challenged and supported.

I wear a lot of hats: PE teacher, coach, and mom. But no matter the role, my heart is always on my bike. I’ve been a mountain biker my entire life, with a love for XC, Enduro, and the spirit of adventure. I'm passionate about fostering a love for the outdoors by coaching kids in racing and creating a space where women feel empowered to tackle new challenges. When I have time, I head for the White Mountains with my bike and my dog to recharge and explore.

NICOLE F

I have been steeped in bicycling since graduating from Stanford University and declaring "I'm going to be a professional cyclist", to which everyone responded, "Get a real job!" I then spent a decade racing professionally on the road which included competing for the United States in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. After wrapping up my racing career, I transitioned to work for Mayor Thomas Menino as Boston's Director of Bicycle Programs from 2008-2015 where I helped launch one of the first bike share systems in the United States and tackled Boston's reputation as the worst city for cycling in the country. I am thrilled to be leading the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA).
TANIA LILIAK

I am a mountain biker with over 30 years of experience. My passion and expertise are jumps and drops, but I also love good tech. I compete in slopestyle competitions and Air DH races throughout the season, but my main passion is just getting out riding! I also serve on the board of Mutt Society, a nonprofit organization based in NH whose mission is to put kids on bikes. My goals are to grow the women’s freeride community, continue pushing progression, and to inspire women to keep biking at any age.
