Course Description:

Welcome to Digital Photography. This introductory photography course is designed to offer students hands on experience with a DSLR camera (Nikon D5600). A variety of camera settings will be learned to offer greater creative and technical control. The Digital Photography course builds the foundation for visual literacy regarding both form and content of photographic images. Topics covered will include exposure, lighting, shutter speed, aperture, depth of field, iso, and camera modes. Both elements and principles of design as they relate to photographic composition will be examined. Students will learn framing within the viewfinder and explore a variety of compositional principles. There will be weekly critiques where students will learn how to examine and analyze images. Digital processing techniques are explored and practiced using Adobe Lightroom CC.
