Kudos to officers Tom Long, Tim Hough and Kevin Crouse for volunteering to empty Gettysburg’s exterior book return box, including over the holiday weekend.
Kudos to the bookstore team for going above and beyond to assist students in returning their rented textbooks from the spring semester, as well as making sure the students receive their summer books and supplies.

Kudos to Jeff Gerstein, and his colleagues in Student Development and Multicultural Programs, for developing a Student Celebration week for graduates! The week included games and contests with prizes, an online dance party, and a final celebration presentation. Students and colleagues alike reported that they really appreciated this new event.

Kudos to James Weber and Kimmin Kalyaniwala for facilitating zoom sessions to keep EMS students engaged and prepared for their resumption of in-person classes. In doing so, James and Kimmin were able to identify a new mechanism to deliver EMS certification courses in a hybrid format, which will further expand the reach of EMS programs.

Kudos to Dr. Ashley Bear, associate professor nursingfor stepping up during these unprecedented times by facilitating the Gettysburg Nursing Lab donation of PPE to Roxbury Treatment Center in Shippensburg.
Kudos to Susan Ray, director of the nursing lab for her support in mobilizing these much needed supplies to a facility that normally does not maintain large inventories of gowns, masks, gloves, and goggles.
Kudos to Kara Lindstrom, direct support nursing for participating and organizing a donation of both pediatric and adult masks to York WellSpan.. Lindstrom personally made 100 masks with the assistance from Wendy Kaehler, administrative office technician and organized nursing students to make the delivery.

Kudos to the Gettysburg Campus Student Programming Board as they continue to offer engaging programming sponsoring and filling all spots for the Virtual Caricature Artist and the Paint-by-Number Kits events. The Virtual Caricature Artist received rave reviews, and will be highlighted again. They also hosted their first virtual magic show featuring Ran’D Shine for all HACC families.
Kudos to the Orientation Leaders/Mentors who supported fellow students during the open scholarship portal by offering a how-to and essay writing session. They also continued to collaborate with Advising to offer virtual/remote support at the Registration Café on April 1-2 during our building closures.

Kudos to Mary Beth Yandrasitz, system administrator, for giving 41 years of dedicated service to HACC, 39 years as a full-time employee and 2 years as a student worker. Mary Beth will be retiring on June 30th and deserves a round of applause for her commitment, stick to it ness, overtime, support, and love for HACC. We will definitely miss her presence.
