HACC Provides Training to Careers in Advanced Manufacturing in York County
As part of Governor Wolf’s Manufacturing PA Initiative, HACC’s Office of Workforce Development and Continuing Education is proud to partner with MANTEC, a manufacturing consulting firm supporting small to mid-sized manufacturing enterprises, to deliver the S.T.E.P. Academy simultaneously with Industrial Maintenance Technician training to address the needs of manufacturers in southcentral Pennsylvania and create a job-ready workforce in the greater York County area. Eighteen students have enrolled in this free 12-week training, paid for by a grant from the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). The current evening course meets from March 16 through June 14, 2021 with a second class scheduled to begin in late June due to high demand. We need your help!
HACC’s Office of Workforce Development and Continuing Education is seeking Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and nurse aide (NA) instructors to teach in these two high-demand programs, and we would like to ask for your assistance in identifying interested and qualified individuals for these part-time positions! Perhaps a neighbor, friend or family member possesses the required qualifications, loves to share their industry knowledge using an approved curriculum, and has an interest in a part-time teaching position. The qualifications for each of these positions include:
CDL Instructor Requirements (applicants must meet all requirements)
Possess a valid Class A CDL.
Possess a valid Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) medical exam card.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years over-the-road driving experience.
Must have a safe driving history.
Must comply with PA Act 15 and other clearance requirements.
Please note: A minimum of two (2) years training experience is preferred.
NA Instructor Requirements (applicants must meet all requirements)
Be a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN) for a minimum of two years.
Of those two years as a nurse, at least one year must have been working as a nurse in a nursing home.
Possess a current and unrestricted PA nursing license.
Schedules for both positions offer some flexibility and a good pay rate. These are part-time, adjunct instructor positions.
We have students on wait lists for additional classes to be scheduled in each of these areas, but we need instructors. We appreciate you spreading the word, and thank you in advance for directing any inquiries to the following individuals:
