This past semester the Business Studies department has undergone some major revisions to three specific programs, Culinary Arts (Certificate and AAS), Baking and Pastry Arts (Certificate) and Hospitality and Management (AAS). It is important to recognize two key faculty members, Dr. Michelle Myers, Professor Management, and Chef Autumn Patti, Assistant Professor Culinary Arts, who spearheaded these changes. They were dedicated to streamlining these programs for each of their areas of focus, while ensuring a top-notch quality student experience. Through their efforts we were able to reduce the time of completion, cost to attend as well as better support students in their career readiness. We would be remiss if we did not take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for the good work of Dr. Myers and Chef Patti. It is equally critical that we recognize contributions from our powerhouse part-time faculty, Dr. Chad Gruhl, Mrs. Asha Esterline, and Mr. Michael DiVecchio in their support of working through the updates connected to the Hospitality and Management program.
A special thank you is in order for Jenny Heberlein. Her attention to detail continues to support the Business Studies Department in many beneficial ways. Most recently she was able to identify a few oddities related to data and report generation. She took initiative by notifying key stakeholders of the need to review and update important reports used in the Academic Affairs unit. Thank you for your critical eye and efforts to generate more efficiency for the work that not only you do, but others across the unit as well.
