Financial Aid and Exit Counseling: What You Need to Know

As the end of the semester approaches, it is important to understand the significance of completing exit counseling. If you have taken out any federal student loans during your time at HACC, you are required to complete exit counseling if you are graduating, leaving school or dropping below halftime enrollment status.

What is Exit Counseling?

Exit counseling is a process designed to provide you with important information about your loan repayment options including deferment and forbearance, as well as help you understand your rights and responsibilities as a borrower. By completing exit counseling, you'll be better equipped to manage your loan repayment and avoid default.

How to Complete Exit Counseling?

To complete exit counseling, visit the Federal Student Aid website and log in with your FSA ID. From there, you'll be able to access the exit counseling module and complete it at your own pace.

When to Complete Exit Counseling

It's important to complete exit counseling as soon as possible to avoid any delays in your loan repayment.
