The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently issued revised guidance related to masks.
As a reminder, HACC has not changed its policy regarding masks since the start of the pandemic. Anyone approved to be on a HACC campus – even if they are fully vaccinated – is required to wear a mask that completely covers their nose and mouth at all times while on campus. The College’s official guidance on mask expectations can be found here.
Wearing a mask is a simple but important measure to help limit the spread of the coronavirus.
Can you answer these questions?
What information would HACC students like to receive before their first day of classes?
What factors will help a career-program student finish their program at HACC?
What might stop a transfer-program student from continuing their HACC education?
In the spring 2021 semester, the Office of College Advancement (OCA) and Office of Information Technology and Learning Experience (OITLE) worked together to distribute a survey to HACC’s continuing students to learn the answers to these questions.
The results can help you effectively communicate with career- and transfer-program students while learning more about them and their HACC experiences.

Nathan, a psychology student at HACC, said there are four people he will “need forever” and who helped him choose HACC. The first two are his children. Nathan said that “wanting to do better for them as well as myself is more than enough motivation for signing up for HACC.” The other two people are his mentor and best friend. “Without my fantastic four I would not be as motivated as I am right now,” he said.

HACC’s wellness-screening process ended May 29, 2021.
Although HACC is no longer providing wellness screening for those involved in on-campus classes or select student services, it is important to continue self-screening each day and evaluate how you feel.
If you are feeling any symptoms of COVID-19 or have had a fever over 100.4 degrees within 48 hours prior to coming to campus, please:
DO NOT come to campus
Notify the College by emailing corona@hacc.edu
Describe whether you tested positive, have symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive. Contact is defined as within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more.
Your safety will continue to be our top priority! Although we cannot control COVID-19 and how it spreads, we will continue to do our part to help maintain student, employee and building safety by following protocols, as per governor’s orders and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. Please visit hacc.edu/Coronavirus for updates.
Jasmine, a psychology student at HACC’s Lancaster Campus, will not let the obstacles in life stop her from getting her degree. Jasmine lives with a condition called spinal muscular atrophy, which weakens her muscles to the point where she requires 24/7 physical and mechanical assistance. Her journey may be different from those traveled by her peers, but Jasmine is motivated like many other HACC students to pursue her dreams no matter what.
