Forest School Homework Part 1

Below are a number of videos demonstrating Forest School at Evansview School. These are some of the activities we did in September and October of 2018 in our East Forest Classroom. Let's start with the beginning and ending of our day.

When students attend Forest School, playing with classmates and with the teacher is one of our activities. We use elements from the natural world to assist us in our play. It's been a while since snow fell in September. After experiencing one snowfall, we couldn't wait for another one!

We weave stories into our work, too. Keeping with the snowy theme, I told my version of Jan Brett's The Mitten.

After story time came game time.

Games are one form of play, while free play is another. Even teachers enjoy playing along!

With an ever-changing environment outside, there are many objects to discover. The key to utilizing these discoveries is to know the right questions to ask.
