Learning is planned to ensure good progression across the subject. Long Term Planning grids show the learning that will be taking place throughout the year and demonstrate the clear learning paths that pupils will follow.
In Religious Education, we follow the agreed syllabus of Living Difference IV. Each unit of work is linked to a key concept - e.g belief, and the children will follow a cycle of enquiry to broaden their knowledge of the studied religion. These cycle of enquiry skills are Communicate, Apply, Inquire, Contextualise and Evaluate.
The Medium Term Planning attached below shows the breakdown of the units and the cycle of enquiry.
As well as the Living Difference IV format to enrich knowledge, children are also exposed to numerous engaging activities which help to supplement and support the pupil's growing understanding of different religions. These include, workshops, trips, speakers and visits. We also include a 'festival/celebration topic', as shown in the Long Term Planning, which again enriches the children's understanding of Religious celebrations in a range of fun activities.
