In Religious Education, we implement a range of strategies to support the inclusion of all learners. This ensures that all of the children at Gurnard Primary School are exposed to an engaging curriculum which is suitable to the needs of everyone.
Photos 1 and 2 show children (KS2) using our interactive software and headsets 'Now, Press Play' where they were immersed in a story to learn about Islam through audio and story participation.
Photo 3 shows a child in KS2 taking part in a Hindu workshop. This type of learning allows for an engaging experience outside of the classroom and interactive with real-life artifacts and activities for the children to take part in.
Photos 4 and 5 show children taking part in role playing to support their learning through story-telling and being in the 'shoes' of those they are learning about.
Photos 6 and 7 shows how using technology can enable children to experience things they may not otherwise be able to. Here are some children taking a virtual tour of a Mosque in Abu Dhabi.Â
Photos 8 shows the children who took part in our end of unit festival lesson - where we focus on a religious festival either at the time of the year or linked to our just-completed unit. This allows for children to be creative in a 'fun' and captivating way.
