There are assigned seats in this class. When the semester starts, seats will be assigned randomly. After that, we change seating assignments about every FOUR weeks.
When we change seats, students get to REQUEST their next seating assignment. To have the best chance at being honored, seat requests must follow these guidelines:
All people currently at a table MUST all sit at different tables from each other for the next round of seating assignments. For example: If your current table is Table 1, one person can choose to at Table 2, one at Table 7, one at Table 5, and so on - as long as each person is at a different table.
No one is allowed to request to sit at the same table more than twice in one semester (i.e., you can't always request to sit at Table 1. You have to mix it up).
Each table will get a worksheet to fill out. You will use this worksheet to request your new seat. Follow these directions when filling out the worksheet.
Place your name (first and last) where you currently sit.
Place your name (first and last) where you would like to sit (if you don't care where you sit, write "Don't care" next to your name where you currently sit).
Draw an arrow from where you sit now to where you want to sit next.
When you table is finished completing the worksheet, turn in your seating requests (per the instructions given in class).
Seating assignments are not guaranteed! You are more likely to get your requested seat if you correctly follow all the directions listed above. If you don't follow the above guidelines, it is more likely that your seat will be picked at random for you.
