In Earth and Space Science we will take you on an investigative adventure from the birth of our Universe all the way to our current understanding of the impact humans are having on our planet. Along the way you will learn about various Earth and Space phenomena such as: supernovae, black holes, gravitational waves, spacetime, earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, drought, flooding, climate change, sea level rise, and much, much more.
Watch the three-minute video below (produced by New York science teacher, Mike Sammartano) for a visual overview of some of the items we will be covering in this course.

If you want a little more education-speak, this is what -nextgenscience.org says about the design of this course:
"The high school performance expectations in Earth and Space Science build on the middle school ideas and skills and allow high school students to explain more in-depth phenomena central not only to the earth and space sciences, but to life and physical sciences as well. These performance expectations blend the core ideas with scientific and engineering practices and crosscutting concepts to support students in developing useable knowledge to explain ideas across the science disciplines."
