Community College steps to apply:
- Submit a college application
- create an OpenCCC account and apply to the community college of choice (Ex. SD City)
- After applying wait 24-48 hours to receive acceptance and next steps
- Complete your FAFSA OR CA DREAM Act Application
- Complete new student online orientation
- after you are accepted you will receive an email with orientation instructions and your student ID number
- Complete the assessment process
- Usually completed via a questionnaire where you will input HS GPA and math/english course(s) taken senior year
- Develop an Educational Plan with a counselor
- this plan will help you know what classes you need to take to obtain your educational goal (ex. associates degree, transfer to a 4-year, and more)
- Register for classes/Pay fees
- You will receive an email indicating your registration date and time
- Pay any outstanding fees that may not be covered by your financial aid
