College Outreach Programs
What are TRiO programs?
The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs.

Talent Search
The Talent Search program identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to and complete their postsecondary education. The program publicizes the availability of financial aid and assist participant with the postsecondary application process.
Talent Search also encourages persons who have not completed education programs at the secondary or postsecondary level to enter or reenter and complete postsecondary education.
The goal of Talent Search is to increase the number of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in and complete their postsecondary education.

The goal of the Talent Search program is to prepare students to apply and enroll in colleges and universities, and assist students with financial aid resources.

Who is Eligible?
Must attend one of the following high schools: El Cajon Valley, Monte Vista, Mount Miguel, or Mountain Empire High Schools.
A potential first generation college student and/or low-income student.
Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
Have college as a goal during high school.
Plan to attend and graduate from a college or university after high school graduation.
¿Quien es Elegible?
Si el estudiante esta matriculado en una de la siguientes Preparatorias: El Cajon Valley, Monte Vista, Mount Miguel, or Mountain Empire High Schools.
Si los padres de familia/tutores no terminaron sus estudios universitarios y/o ser de bajos recursos.
Ser ciudadano o residente permanente de los Estados Unidos.
Tener como meta atender la universidad durante el transcurso de la preparatoria.
Después de la preparatoria planear en asistir la universidad o el colegio y graduarse de el.
