Lesson 1

Learning Expectations

To have logged on their Google Account and Joined the Year 6 Google Classroom.
To open the shared Spreadsheet Assignment to create a Timeline of their Year 6 journey.
To have entered the following entries into a Timeline spreadsheet, focus on the Year, Month, Day, Time, Headline, Text and Media columns to start with:

When and where you were born
Started School

Google Starter Challenge

Step 1

Open Google Chrome on your computer
Click the Sign In blue button in the top corner (if this doesn't appear, go to www.google.com)
Log on to your Google Account with the following format:

<first letter of your first name><first 4 letters of your last name>21@ingravejohnstone.org

For example John Smith would be jsmit21@ingravejohnstone

Use the password that your teacher has given you.
Accept the terms and conditions and finish logging on.

Step 2

Click the 9 small dots in the top right corner of your screen and choose Google Classroom.
Choose STUDENT
Click the '+' in the top right corner of the screen
Enter the Classroom Code that your teacher gives you

Step 1

In Google Classroom open the assignment titled 'Ingrave Johnstone Learning Journey'
Open the Spreadsheet that is within this Assignment post

Step 2

In row 2 of this spreadsheet complete the following columns about where and when you were born:

Year
Month
Day
Time (if you know the time you were born)
Headline - What would be the title of this entry
Text - Write a paragraph about being born into this world
Media - Find a relevant image using Google Images and copy and paste this link into this field

In row 3 of the this spreadsheet complete an entry using the same columns as above when you started school at Ingrave Johnstone.
