Definition of terms
USA Cheerleading Rules
Before the game begins, coaches and cheer squads introduce themselves.
Cheerleaders may play a friendly icebreaker
Cheer teams will take turns cheering during the game.
Before the game, coaches discuss whether or not they are performing a half-time dance, and which team will go first.
Half time dances should be 1 to 1 ½ minutes long to allow both teams to perform during halftime. (half time is 5 mins)
At the end of the game, each cheer team will make a tunnel to celebrate the athletes’ game play or they make one giant tunnel.
YOU MAY NOT STUNT OR TUMBLE WITHOUT A NFHS CERTIFICATION
Practicing stunts or tumbling must be done on the mats
Participants must not stunt or tumble when the ball is in play
A spotter is required for all stunts
