What an informative and fun zoom session our 7/8/9s had with Tim Haltigin of the Canadian Space Agency.

Tim, who grew up in Canora, SK, is the Senior Mission Scientist in Planetary Exploration with the CSA. He gave our class a fun dive into what life is like working on the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover, as well as advice and tips for students who have a passion for pursuing a career in science. Thank you Dr. Haltigin for sharing your passion and excitement for space exploration and science!

Today students got to zoom with our federal representative, MP Wagantall. We have many conversations in our classroom about our government and its processes and structure, so we always welcome these awesome learning opportunities.

Our zoom started a bit late because MP Wagantall was stuck in an emergency house sitting about Bill C-7. This was a great experience for students because we got to explore the bill before hand, and learn about the process of debate in the house.

This afternoon students joined Sharpes Crop Services in celebrating Canadian Ag Day. We chatted with local Sharpes employees and watched videos about different types of farms in our area including dairy, bee and goat farming.

We love when Sharpes joins us, they always have great, engaging activities that highlight the importance of Agriculture locally and globally!
