About Us

Hi! My name is Kaytlyn and I’m in grade 7. I live with my parents and my 2 brothers, who are in grade 5 and 3. I am 12 years old and also the oldest child in my family. We have a dog named Rosie who is 4 years old.

In my spare time I’m usually hanging out with my friends, playing with my dog, baking, painting, or doing math. Anyone who knows me knows that I love all these things, but especially math. I go to Macdonald School in Stockholm,Saskatchewan. My dad went to Macdonald School when he was little. My mom grew up outside of Moose Jaw, and went to school there. Right now we only have 1 dog, named Rosie. Before her we had a dog named Daisy. We have also had a ton of cats. Sometimes they are just stray cats that wander into our yard (because we live on a farm) and we take care of them. We have have lots of other cats through the years.

Hi I’m Ry-Lynn Molnar and I am a grade 7 student of Macdonald School. I have only been going to school here for 4 years. My teachers this year are Ms. Hovind and Ms. Sapieha! They are pretty chill teachers. Some of my hobbies are horseback riding, camping and just being outdoors. Some sports that I play are softball and gymnastics. The horse that I ride the most is named Yoigi he is actually my mom’s horse, but I always take him from her. I also have an older sibling and a younger sibling. I play ball in Esterhazy on an all girls team. I also live very close to the school. We also have a dog her name is daisy. My Grandpa pulls horses and we always go and help him in the summer.

Hey! My name is Randell Banga and I am a grade 8 student from the grade 7/8/9 classroom in Macdonald School. I play bantam A hockey for Melville Parkland Fire and hope to play AA for Regina Rebels next year and AAA for the Weyburn Gold Wings the year following. I love animals and competing in rodeos with my family and friends in the summer. I have family in Lethbridge, Alberta and I've always wanted to go to university there. My favourite season is winter because I love snow, but summer is also one of my favorites because there is so much i can do on the lake with my friends. I have a two and a half year old colt named Rowdy that I got when he was four months old. He will be three on May 10. I also have what we think is a Belgin quarter horse named John Wayne that I run cows with at my friends farm. So, basically my life consists of family, friends, hockey, horses, and having fun.

Hi my name is Donovan Kunkel I’m in grade nine and I’ve been in Macdonald school for ten years. I spend most of my time outside of school playing football on the Esterhazy warriors team, as well as doing karate in the gym of the Esterhazy high school. But with what's going on with COVID-19 I’ve been spending a lot of time hunting and quading. While lately we’ve been doing online classes so i’ve been staying home a lot as well. This website we’re doing seems to be a really new thing for our school and the schools around us. I didn’t really see why we were doing this but it seems like it might be fun.

Hi everyone!! I am Camryn Molnar. I am 14 years old and in grade 9 at Macdonald School in Stockholm, Sk. I have two younger sisters Ry-Lynn and Piper Molnar. Ry-Lynn is in grade 7 and Piper is in grade 5. I like spending time outside with friends and family doing fun activities and getting fresh air and exercise. In winter some activities I enjoy are skating, skidooing, fishing, and going for sleigh rides. In summer I enjoy spending time at the lake swimming and boating with friends and family, I also enjoy quadding, going for wagon rides, going to horse pulls, and rodeos. I like to keep myself busy and to always be doing something. I enjoy playing board games with my family and just spending time with them. I never turn down an opportunity to go outside and be with my family and friends.

Hi I’m Donavan Walz. I go to Macdonald School in Stockholm, Saskatchewan and I’m in grade 9. I have three younger siblings. One of my sisters is 14, the other sister is 13 and my younger brother is 11. I love spending time with my family like watching movies and playing board games with them. I like to spend lots of time outside, like going sledding, skating and playing hockey. I also read in my spare time and some of my favourite movies are Fast and Furious, Spiderman, Batman and Iron Man. That’s some information about me and my family and some of my hobbies.

Hi there, My name is Harmony Padley and I'm in grade 8 with a class of 7/8/9s at Macdonald School. I play football with the Melville Viper girls and the team was grade 6 to 12. Lately have been volunteering where my mom works.I really like to volunteer because then people can see what I like and what I don't like. I like playing football. It was a chance for me to go play with melville vipers where I only know 2 people on the team. I'm glad I got to try football with my sister Jasmine,Jasmine and I are sisters. We have the same dad but we have different moms. Since covid is on I have wanted to spend more time with Jasmine. I got hurt in football and she was there for me. She really cares about me.I have always wanted a big sister like her. I got hurt really bad at a game and she was there for me. I knew if I ever got hurt I didn't have to worry because I knew she would be there. I like to go bowling,curling and riding my moms friends. I like to play board games with my family when we get the chance to. We sit by the campfire when we get the chance to.

Hey!!! I am Hailey Walz, one of the students in grade 8. I've been in Macdonald School since kindergarten. If I had the choice of staying for high school, I would choose staying over leaving any day of the week. I help the teachers and fellow classmates when they need help. I played fall football on the Esterhazy Warriors team and I loved it! I also did gymnastics at Macdonald School in the gym. When I'm not in school or doing sports I like hanging out with my friends from school and my friends from Melville. I also like hanging out with my family. Hi, I'm Andra. I moved here from Alberta in grade 4 , and I have been at this school for about 4 years. I don't have many hobbies but these are some hobbies I like riding my horses. I have three horses one named Diago he is 14, Titan who is also 14 , and Duke who is 1 and a half. I also have a dog named Lucy and a cat named Gizmo. My favourite animals are horses. My favourite show is friends. But sadly they took it off netflix. My favourite color is yellow ,and my favourite apps are Tiktok, Snapchat, and Instagram.I also enjoy facetiming my friends. Hi, I'm Autumn Janade Johnson. My birthday is November 6 2006. Im 14 years old. I go to Stockholm school. My favorite food is cheese and ice cream sandwiches. I play a couple sports hockey and lacrosse. I always love trying new things. My favorite colour is green and pink. I really enjoy panting, going for walks and spending time with friends and family. if i could go anywhere in the world i would go to london uk, i have always wanted to go there. My aunt lives there and every time she comes home she tells us amazing stories. My favorite tv show is Modern family and my favorite movie is crazy rich asians. Hi there my name is Hudson Earnshaw I live at Round lake. A few of my hobbies are fishing, Hunting, hockey, dirt biking. I have a sister and a brother, their names are Jordan and Emrie. I'm the oldest, Jordan is the second oldest, and Emrie is the youngest. My parents' names are Jonathan and Chantelle. We just moved from Esterhazy last summer in August. That summer was one of my best summers I've had. I've loved hockey ever since I was young, I´ve played for Esterhazy flyers since I was 10. Then I played for the Melville Millionaires for two years. After I thought I would play for Esterhazy again. I always loved the outdoors. When I was younger I spent lots of time at a creek at my grandpa's house. There is a beaver dam there that I also liked to break at that creek. But I love fishing and I do it pretty much every day because we are lakefront. I go Hunting with my dad all the time. It's so much fun watching him shooting deer. And those are all of my favourite hobbies.

Hi my name is Kaleb Hill.I am 13 years old.I live at Round Lake, Saskatchewan on an acreage facing the lake. I have a brother named Blake who is 8 years old.The best part is being able to go to the lake whenever. In the summer I like to go surfing on my boat. This summer I just learnt how to surf. This summer I would like to master a 360 on the surfboard. I spend a lot of time dirt biking with my friends. I also like to go fishing off my dock with my brother. This summer caught a rockbass which is rare in this lake.In the winter I like to play hockey. This year I am playing for the Esterhazy Flyers. In my spare time I like to go ski-dooing around the lake. We just built a new ice fishing shack and we spend as much time as we can in it.

Hi, I'm Landon. Also known as the UNO! champion🏆. I am the 15 year old kid who can deadlift 340 lbs, survive fall damage from jumping off a one story building, and has the biggest glutes that anybody has ever seen on a male, I am also the height of 5'8 and the weight of 180 lbs.

I know what you're thinking. "Woah, this guy is epic." Well..you're right. Some days it gets hard for me to be so epic. But I battle through it like a warrior 😤. Speaking of warrior's, I have a couple hobbies. Hobby #1. I really like to go uptown with my best friends in the whole wide world and play UNO! in a back alley that we claimed for our own and named it Rap Alley. Hobby #2. The reason we called it Rap Alley is because we would find a beat and freestyle over it. Ever since then I've really been into rapping and even made a few songs. Hobby #3. I do a butt load of weight lifting. I've been doing it since I was 13 and never stopped. As my career in the future is to be a professional strongman💪. Hello, my name is Luke Silvernagle. I'm a grade 8 student in Maconald's School. I've been going to Macdonald school for eight years now, I've had teachers Mrs Langford, Mrs Hovind, Mrs Sapieha, Mr Liedl, Mrs Shivak, Mrs Bork, Mrs Johanson and Mrs Kennedy. And i don't think they get enough credit for all that they do to teach us. I would say I'm on the competitive side of the spectrum some of my hobbies are hockey, fishing and baseball. I also like to snowmobile and or dirtbike. I have two older sisters. Emma and Jessie, Emma is 15 and Jessi is 23! Right now i live in Stockholm with my sister Emma, Jessi lives in Brisbane, Australia with her fiancé. Hockey is my favorite sport, i Recently built an outdoor rink right outside of my house, I use it almost everyday. I hope everyone has a great 2021!

Hello my name is Trever Ratti, I'm 13 years old and I enjoy playing basketball, video games, and other activities. I like spending time with my family and friends. I live in stockholm and I like to snowmobile and go outside and build forts. I don't work at the moment but I plan to be a structural engineer when I grow up. It's honest work and you get a high pay. But at the time I'm focused on having fun and hanging out and getting through school. Hi, my name is Anna Schwitzer and I am in the 8th grade, I am from Stockholm SK. , I am good at gymnastics and I have accomplished so much. First let's start with recreational gymnastics. I completed levels 1, 2 ,3, 4 , 5 And I got two gold medals. That's all for recreational gymnastics. And now for competitive gymnastics I was on the competitive team for a year In 2018/19 And I competed in three competitions that year The first competition was in Saskatoon I won a silver medal And I got third place in beam 2nd place on bars And another 2nd place on floor in 2nd place on vault . And my second competition was in Regina And they got another silver medal I got another 3rd place on beam and a 2ad Place Bars In another 2ad place on floor and a 1st place on vault and My last competition was in Yorkton And at that competition i won another silver medal And I got a 2ad place on beam 3rd place on bars 1st place on vault and a 2ad place on floor That's pretty much all for the competitive gymnastics And now all we have left to tell you about its rhythmic gymnastics I completed levels 1, 2,3,Kind of had level four but covid-19 got in the way of my gymnastics training And also like competitive Olympic style gymnastics Is competitions The first year I went I got the best theme, the second time went I got a little bit unlucky and didn't place. I do have other things that I like to do like ride horses and collect seashells .

My name is Paisley Duchek and i'm now 14 years old and in grade 8. I live in Dubuc with my mom and dad and 2 younger siblings, we have 2 dogs named Scarlett and Hanna and a cat named Dash that usually just roams around town. My name is Karen Hovind and I am one half of the team that teaches grade 7/8/9. I’ve been at Macdonald School for 4.5 years and it just keeps getting better! I’ve taught most all subjects from grade 2 ELA to grade 12 social studies in the years I’ve been a teacher, but middle years students and classes is where it’s at! Students are always full of passion, gumption, and excitement. I’m challenging some of their excitement this year as we work to build a more integrative, collaborative, and explorative program for our middle years students.

Outside of teaching, I have a passion for social justice, politics, and the outdoors. I enjoy getting involved in my community through committees and public service and I bring a lot of that passion into the classroom. My students will be the first to tell you I’m a political nerd (not to mention a book reading nerd). I absolutely love being active in the outdoors and enjoy camping, kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. My husband and I also enjoy traveling and we look forward to trips together as often as we can.

This website is one step along the path of student led inquiry-based learning and the program we are building at Macdonald School. We have spent a lot of time talking about the legacy we all want to leave on the world and the best way to positively impact the community around us this year. The students responsible for this creative space have a lot to say, and I’m excited to be on this journey with them!

Hi there! My name is Noelle Sapieha and I am one of the co-teachers of our 7/8/9 classroom. It’s crazy to admit this, but this is my 19^th year in the classroom! Along the way, I’ve taught a bit of everything, but my heart lies with middle years students. Not a day goes by that I don’t actually, for real, lol.

Outside of teaching, much fun is spent with my 16 year old daughter Quinn and my 14 year old son Jax. They keep me on my toes daily and are occasionally now beating me at ping pong. We all share a love for sports, the outdoors, board games and movies. A few years ago, our love for movies and socializing brought me to buying and reopening the Maple Leaf Theatre in Esterhazy. Weekends now mean previewing the latest movies and serving popcorn.

I’m really excited to see where this website takes us. We opened this year talking about legacy, and this platform is a terrific way for our students to share their thoughts and opinions – a step to leaving their “mark” on the world!
