Lesson Planning Documentation
Instructional providers can document the ELP standards along with the Performance Indicator in one of the following formats:
Displayed/written on whiteboard
Written in teacher's lesson plan book or planning template
Stated in the teacher's Google Slide, PowerPoint presentation, and/or student learning materials
Highlighted in the teacher's copy of the ELP standards with the date and specific language support(s) written next to the performance indicator
Completed CUSD SEI instruction lesson plan template
Lesson Planning Best Practices
ADE requires a week's view of lesson plans: hard copy or digital access
Scaffolds, accommodations, or differentiation are planned for and require actionable evidence to be seen during instruction
Consider the objective, anticipated outcome, and student's proficiency level to choose a language support
Language supports must align to the ELP standards
Lesson plans for Integrated instruction must include the content standard(s), ELP standard(s), and Performance Indicator(s).

Each teacher receives a folder that includes:
Laminated/Printed copy of condensed ELP standards
Student form that includes AZELLA proficiency level
Copies of lesson plan(s) that specifies the ELP standards
Bogle Junior High
All 10 ELP standards are posted for the class to see.
Standards are color-coded.
Teacher uses a visual cue to highlight focus standard(s) for the lesson.
Performance Indicator(s) must be in the lesson plans and/or visible throughout instruction.
Payne Junior High
Weekly lesson plan template
ELP Standards are highlighted in yellow.
Accommodations are listed and align with the lesson content.
Santan Junior High
The mode of communication is identified and displayed.
ELP Standard along with Performance Indicator(s) is highlighted for display and record keeping.
Elementary: Classroom Setup
HMH Tabletop Mini Lesson is being utilized for Targeted instruction.
ELP Standards are posted and aligned with grade-level content areas on the whiteboard.
Instructional materials are within reach to maximize instructional minutes.
