The goal of the Griffin-Spalding County Schools Quality Leaders Academy is to increase student achievement by identifying, recruiting, inducting, preparing, developing, and supporting our future and current leaders to become effective school and department leaders. The Griffin-Spalding Quality Leaders Academy (QLA) is a locally-created initiative that serves as the framework in which GSCS leaders will be trained and developed. Ultimately, the Quality Leaders Academy will help ensure that the system possesses effective leadership at the school and district levels for years to come.
The GSCS Quality Leaders Academy embodies a collaborative, logical, and practical model for developing leaders at all Griffin-Spalding County School System levels. These performance-based leadership programs teach participants about the specific leadership roles, responsibilities, and expectations of the leadership position they are currently in or aspire to become.
They will also acquire the required knowledge, skills, and talents that are necessary to be an effective leader at the respective leadership levels. Each participant will study research-based concepts of leadership and learn how to apply these core leadership behaviors and standards in real department- and school- settings and address real department- and school-related issues.
Aspiring Leaders are employees in any area seeking knowledge about leadership content. The employee should have at least two (2) years of experience in the Griffin-Spalding County School System and have displayed a desire to improve and grow professionally.
