Professional Learning in Griffin-Spalding County Schools
Through planned professional learning, employees are provided opportunities to add to or improve their competencies and skills. Opportunities will be available at the district or building levels using face-to-face, online, or blended platforms.
As a GSCS staff member, staying informed of new ways to hone your skills and enrich your knowledge is essential. The GSCS Professional Learning sessions aim to improve knowledge and skills to support individual, schoolwide, and districtwide improvements that increase student achievement. Sessions may be offered in person at various sites and virtually.
GSCS Professional Learning Events
The 2026 GSCS Clerical Academy brought together school and district clerical staff for a full day of professional learning, collaboration, and connection. Guided by the theme “Equipped for the Road Ahead,” the Academy provided participants with practical tools, updated procedures, and valuable resources to support their work throughout the school year.
Sessions focused on key operational areas, including finance, student data, transportation, maintenance requests, safety procedures, workers’ compensation, time and attendance, compliance, and customer service. Participants also had opportunities to learn from district leaders, connect with colleagues, and reflect on the important role clerical professionals play in creating positive experiences for students, families, staff, and the community.
The Academy was designed to ensure that every participant left feeling informed, supported, and better prepared for the road ahead. Resources and session materials from the event are available on this site for continued reference throughout the year.
