Religion a set of beliefs and a particular system of faith and religion, in which people believe that there is some sort of a supernatural power controlling everything.
Religion hasn't really monumentally changed, but it's how it's spread that's amazing. There are many more people involved in religion now.

- For the period 2000-2013, the figures in point 1. above equate to an average annual growth rate of 1.18% v 1.32%. The growth rate for Islam is 1.84%, making it the religion with the highest growth rate over the period.
- As a percentage of the World Total, the Christian Population increased from 22.7% to 32.4%, with a projected figure of 33.8% for 2025.
- For the period 2000-2013, Christianity grew fastest in Africa, with a rate of 2.68%. The lowest growth rate was in Europe, at 0.22% p.a.
- By 2025, the African continent is expected to surpass Latin America as the Continent with a most numbers of Christians (Predicted number: 688 Million).
Even though religion has widely spread across the globe, still, people in the world go against other beliefs. Groups of people are still being discriminated because of religious differences. One of the main reasons for religious intolerance is just this one thing: ignorance. Since some people are ignorant about other different religions, they tend to have more misconceptions because they do not know about that religion. People may start to think that their own religion is different from another one, thus hiding the fact that those 2 religions might be similar in some ways. Others think that one religion is right and the rest are just wrong. We will only see one perspective, which blocks the other person's point of view. These misconceptions may turn into fear, and fear slowly turns into hate. This hate could even spread into violence.
We have heard that in some points of history that there have been religious prosecutions. Like how the Romans executed people who had faith in Christianity, or when in England Protestants and Catholics stuck religious controversies and problems. It is still the same today taken as the form of religious extremism, faith-based actions that are a threat and harm to other people. From burning people alive or bombing cities, this still continues today. Just like the 9/11 attacks in the U.S. or the world's first mass-scale chemical terrorist attack in Japan. This was just because people thought the other religion was wrong. Just because of some religious extremists, people from the same religion are being stereotyped and looked down upon.
Most of us today are open-minded and can embrace our religious differences. If we all accept each other, then there will not be huge massacres anymore and we can all live in peace.
