On this website, we are exploring how to embrace each others differences. As a group, we chose to explore this theme in the perspective of how people in the early 1900's would have seen us, and how we have developed as a community. We are comparing the diversity back then to the diversity, opinions and ways of life compared to what we have now.
This website is part of the Global Virtual Classroom Website Contest. We are the group GVCM1705, made up of the school Wunshan Senior High School, in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and the school International Community School of Abidjan, in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.
The theme we were given was "Embracing our Differences". We decided that we would look at how people in the 1900's would see us now, and compare what diversity was like back then, compared to how we have evolved to appreciate the diversity we have now.
We had a challenge, because first of all, we were communicating over-seas, and second of all, we had very different schedules. But with Edmodo, we managed to communicate.
Also, we had to make sure that all the images we were using were labeled for reuse to keep from copyright issues. But when there were images that we couldn't get online, we made them ourselves.
Overall, this project was a fun experience and test of our communication, improvising, and group skills.
